Knicks, Post D'Antoni

Wow! The Knicks won by 42 points last night to a talented but terrible team. Even though it was only the Portland Fail-blazers it was a very impressive win. The boys in blue and orange played together with a defensive tenacity we have never seen from them and ball movement that reminded us of when Clyde was running the show. Now this is the reason why I love this team. Even with the previous 6 losses, they showed us what they're capable of when the defensive end powers the offensive end.

Mike Woodson is more than a capable coach and if he could manage to get the best out of these players for the rest of the season. I think he has a great chance at keeping the head coach position and taking the Knicks into a deep playoff run.

The real test will be the home and home games against the Pacers this weekend. Indiana is a very deep and talented team but if the Knicks play with the urgency and cohesion they showed they could Wednesday night, they have a great shot at taking both games, and possibly going on a nice run to get that 8th seed back. Although, if they go back to their old ways, I believe it would mean its time to blow up the team and start from scratch.

Amare Stoudemire reminded us exactly what he is capable of the way he was playing above the rim and Carmelo had a very good all around game. He proved why he is a top tier player without even scoring 20 points.   The two combined for 30 points at the half; Portland as a team only put together 29.

The Bockers have 23 games left to prove to everyone they were not a waste of money and talent. They have to take at least 15 of those games for anyone to even consider them a threat in the playoffs.  It's all on 'Melos shoulders now so let's see exactly how "clutch" he is.
